I hope you found our refresher topic on our autonomic nervous system useful. We discussed Polyvagal Theory, and how it relates to labour & birth, and why it's so important to practice rest, relaxation & boost oxytocin during pregnancy. We also covered techniques on how to complete the stress activation cycle, please find a document below containing all the different types of techniques we can use to help to regain calm and control when we are feeling in a state of 'fight, flight or freeze'.
